Amie’s Internship Journey at Adam Benedict: Trust, Growth, and Real-World Impact
During my internship at Adam Benedict, I had the privilege of gaining firsthand experience in a forward-thinking law firm that values trust, collaboration, and innovation. From the very beginning, I was warmly welcomed into the team and encouraged to take on significant responsibilities that allowed me to develop my skills while contributing to the firm’s work. I was struck by how approachable and supportive everyone was, and how much confidence they placed in me to take ownership of the tasks I was given. This trust made me feel like a valued member of the team rather than simply an intern observing from the sidelines.
Much of my time was dedicated to legal research and drafting quotes, claims and advisory letters. These responsibilities required me to think critically, pay close attention to detail, and ensure that everything I produced was both thorough and practical. What made the experience especially valuable was seeing how the research I carried out and the documents I drafted fed directly into the advice and solutions being prepared for clients. Every piece of written work needed to reflect the professionalism and high standards of the firm, which pushed me to develop a precise writing style and to think carefully about how information is presented. By working across a variety of practice areas, including corporate, commercial, construction, and civil litigation, I gained a deeper appreciation for how different branches of law interact, how effective strategies are built, and how solutions are tailored to meet the unique needs of each client. Being trusted with this level of responsibility was both challenging and motivating, as I knew my contributions were not just theoretical exercises but real work with a tangible impact.
What stood out most during my time at Adam Benedict was the supportive and welcoming atmosphere created by the team. From the very first day, I was treated with kindness and respect, and colleagues were always willing to share their knowledge and guidance. Whether I needed help navigating a legal issue or reassurance on the finer points of drafting, there was always someone ready to offer support. At the same time, I was given the independence to approach tasks on my own, which allowed me to build confidence in my own abilities. I am especially thankful to Harrison, Grace, and Adam whose balance of mentorship and trust made the experience both enjoyable and transformative.
Reflecting on the experience, I feel incredibly grateful for the opportunity to be part of such a dynamic and innovative firm. I leave my internship not only with stronger skills in research and drafting, but also with a clearer understanding of how legal practice works on a day-to-day basis and what it means to serve clients effectively. More importantly, I leave with a motivation to continue pursuing my career, inspired by the professionalism, dedication, and generosity of the team at Adam Benedict.
